As they say in Japan, kon'nichiwa, or hello, and welcome to On the Road to Asia! In June of 2002, the New York Philharmonic travelled to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan bringing with them plenty of people, luggage and music as they visited 8 cities during their tour. In this issue of On the Road, read what it's like to be a soloist with the Philharmonic and learn a little Korean. As always, we'll see and hear how the trip went from Orchestra members themselves as they send back pictures and postcards. So, kanpa! That means cheers! We are off to Asia. Where in the world has the Orchestra been? Check out these earlier issues of On The Road: June 2001 - Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile January 2001 - Spain June 2000 - England, France, Poland, Germany, Holland, Austria, Czech Republic January 2000 - Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands |
