The New York Philharmonic travels across the Atlantic Ocean once more, this time for a four week European tour! Beginning June 5th, the orchestra will visit 7 different countries - from Jolly Old England to the beauty of Holland to Maestro Masur's home country of Germany. It will be a busy tour, as the orchestra visits 11 cities and plays a concert almost every evening. But in between all the traveling and performances there will be time for sightseeing, wonderful food, and the pleasure of making new friends with wonderful music.

In this issue of On the Road you'll read interviews with Philharmonic musicians and learn what they like best about touring. Follow the Tour Calendar to see where the orchestra is, what they are playing and what they might see on their journeys. Watch for email postcards from orchestra members telling us about their adventures and showing us pictures of the wonderful places they get to visit.

Are you packed? Then let's head to Europe!
